Reflection - Written (Literary Analysis)
1. Compare the ways in which the final version of your paper is more effective (or, perhaps, less effective) than your earlier draft. Make sure to consider purpose, audience, argument, evidence, and language conventions.
The final draft was much better and well organized than the initial draft. There were many important changes in the content of the essay. The final draft has a clearer thesis and it addresses the rhetorical situation in a much more organized manner. The final version of the essay explained the argument of the essay in a much smooth and lucid manner. It was easier to understand for the reader. The purpose and argument of the original draft remained the same in the final draft as well. I also took care of the use of language conventions and corrected a few grammatical errors there were in the original essay draft. It answered several questions which were unanswered in the first draft. This improved the rhetorical awareness of the essay. The evidence used in the original essay was also used in the final draft but in a more precise and elaborate manner.
2. Explain how your paper uses more than words to achieve your purposes. Consider layout, design, headers, images, fonts, color and other graphic elements.
The final draft of the essay does not use a lot more than words to make the essay better. Since it was an essay paper, I used the standard practices for formatting the essay. Since this was purely a piece of writing, I did not use any color schemes, graphical elements or special formatting designs.
Whereas the final draft that appears on the website uses a lot more than words to achieve the purpose of the essay. It has the image of the visualization I made to represent the entire project on top of it. This visualization represents several ideas I have explained in the final draft. I have included the title of the essay in a different format to differentiate it from the main essay text. Moreover, the main page of all the drafts uses a picture which has been made from this final draft. This picture uses all the major words used in the essay and gives a general idea about the topics that will be discussed in the essay.
3. Describe the processes you have used effectively in composing the final draft that you believe are worth repeating when you do another project. Consider planning, collaboration with peers, using library resources, revision techniques, editing techniques, and the timing of your drafts.
There were a few important methods which I developed or employed while composing the final draft. I found rhetorical awareness of the topic to be an important aspect while developing the essay. I made sure that the final draft takes care of rhetorical awareness of the topic. I used the final revision to look over the essay and determine how the information could be reorganized to create a more effective argument. The initial essay did not answer all the aspects related to the lens I was analyzing. The final draft answered all the unanswered questions in a precise manner. This strengthened the overall argument of the essay. I realized that revising the essay by speaking it loudly helped me to catch most of the errors. I wrote all my essays in the library because it not only gives a suitable silent environment for writing the easy but also it gives several resources which I can refer to when I am writing the essay.
